Timothy C. Stansfield, Ph.D., is the founder and president of IET, Inc., and has over twenty-five years of manufacturing and management consulting experience in more than twelve hundred different manufacturing plants worldwide. IET is a leading world-class manufacturing and engineering consulting enterprise whose international clients include NASA, General Motors, Leggett & Platt, Kraft Foods, Phillip Morris, Lear Corporation, and Gillette. IET specializes in designing and executing manufacturing solutions to help clients compete in a global manufacturing environment and provides strategic manufacturing design and management support for operations throughout North America, as well as in South America, Europe, and Asia. The company has received a wide variety of industry awards for engineering and human resource excellence. In addition to Tim’s administrative responsibilities in leading IET, he is actively involved as an executive coach, educator, and thought leader across the manufacturing landscape.

Tim has been the recipient of numerous industry and academic recognitions, including Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and has received the Distinguished Alumnus Award at the University of Toledo in both the College of Engineering and the College of Business. He holds professional engineering licenses in the states of Ohio, Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, Illinois, and New York.

Tim has published numerous articles in leading professional journals, such as Business Horizons, Industrial Management, IE Solutions, and International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management. His research centers on manufacturing productivity, effective plant management, goal setting and feedback, and production launch success. He is an adjunct faculty member in the College of Business Administration, the College of Engineering, and the Executive Center for Global Competitiveness at the University of Toledo.

Tim holds a Ph.D. in manufacturing management, an M.B.A. in management, an M.A. in history, and a B.S. in industrial engineering, all from the University of Toledo, where Clint Longenecker was his teacher and mentor.
